Mortal Kombat II review by Con

In Cinemas 8/5/26 (15) 4 Stars

Parent View:

What can I say about Mortal Kombat 2? Well, for starters – Hater are gonna hate. But if you’re a die hard fan of this gaming franchise – you’re basically buying a ticket to the coolest Mortal Kombat party ever on a massive cinema screen. Don’t be going for the story – it’s as basic as it needs to be. But the directing, performances, action and all important MK gore is outstanding. A must see for fans on the big screen!!!

Mortal Kombat 1 – Khaos Reigns Expansion

Mortal Kombat 1 – Khaos Reigns Expansion review

Following on from the main games story, our Mortal Kombat universe has been invaded by titan Havok. Havok goes from universe to universe spreading chaos by taking key people from their universes, but our Mortal Kombat characters won’t let this happen to their universe. The story’s just as much fun as the main game, and really successfully follows on from where we left our favourite characters previously. I personally really enjoyed the introduction around Noob Saibot and all how the relationships between the characters really flourished with this addition.

As for the newest characters, I reall enjoy the flashy mechanics behind the two robot ninja, with both Cyrax and Sektor having unique and powerful moves that hold lots of fight combo potential. Noob Saibot plays really well and clearly translates into the Mortal kombat 1 fighting style. Although his design has a few ugly elements, that any die hard fans of his might need to allow to grow on them over time.

The other three characters that have been announced: Ghostface, T-100 and Conan the Barbarian all seem like interesting picks, which although I can’t comment on yet, I am beyond excited to try them out when they release. And finally, the addition of animalities was a real suprise, all of which look amazing, with my personal favourite being Omni Man’s.

Funko Fusion

Funko Fusion review by Con

Available on PlayStation, XBox and PC (PEGI 16) 3 Stars

Youth #Gottit View:

Con’s expectations for this game were sky high, as he’s such a huge fan of Pop figures and Funko products. He really likes Funko Fusion – but hopes that the future updates add more to the gameplay for his age group of fans. If this game had of been a PEGI 7 or PEGI 12, it would have scored higher on Kidzcoolit. But with games directed at a PEGI 16 or PEGI 18 audience, it needed a bit more ‘grit’ to the levels. This is a must play for Funko and fans of the IP’s within this game though!!!

RoboCop – Rogue City

RoboCop – Rogue City review

Robocop fans around the world can rejoice when I say this game is everything a robocop fan could ever want. There’s even a return for Peter Weller in his most iconic role ever!

The game follows a very simple story. Robocop is busting a hostage situation, caused by a gang that distributes the drug Nuke. Whilst doing this, he suffers a fall which causes old memories to flood back into his brain, yet only in small fragments. And so he must take down the gang and stop the illegal drugs from being distributed whilst dealing with his malfunctions.

The gameplay has a very Cyberpunk 2077 and Goldeneye feel to it, with it being a first person shooter, and an assortment of different guns you can use, as well as a brutal melee attack. The movement and gunplay feels very slow and rigid, which in most games would be a downside. But seeing as it’s a Robocop game, it works incredibly well. This is paired with a very high durability, even whilst on the higher difficulties which allows you to fully embrace the Robocop all fans want to be.

The accessibility of this game is really good as well. It’s very much a pick up and play game, with simple enough story so you won’t be left confused after playing it again for a while. As well as having a really useful map guidance, even if it doesn’t necessarily tell you exactly what you need to be doing. And finally the difficulty scaling feels incredibly effective, catering to all audiences who will would want to play the game.

The only one fault this game suffers from, is the graphics. Whilst in play the graphics are fine. But the game has such a reliance on well lit cut scenes and that side of the games graphics let the Robocop: Rogue City down. These scenes don’t stand up to modern next gen games, and not even most PS4 games. That said the game is so much fun, and really enjoyable to play – so the cut scene graphics can be easily ignored.

I really enjoy this Robocop: Rogue City and think if you are a fan of the movie franchise or enjoy first person shooters, you will love this game too.

Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC 2/11/23 (PEGI 18) 4.5 Stars

We really love this game. Is it perfect? No. But, it plays so well and it’s really good fun, so the limitations to some of the graphics can be easily ignored. Goldeneye meets Cyberpunk – Highly Recommended!!!
